Thiruvananthapuram: The state government has decided to give the vaccine to all those above 18 years of age without any preference condition. The Department of Health said in the order that priority will continue to be given to various categories, including those affected by the disease. The vaccine has been available for free in the country since June 21. This order of the state government is a continuation of this.
Steps are being taken to intensify the vaccine supply in the state. But the central government has taken steps to speed up vaccination on the conclusion that the third wave of covid will be delayed. It is hoped that Kerala will get more vaccines in the coming days. Attempts are being made in the country to vaccinate one crore, people, every day.
New Delhi: Covid’s DeltaPlus variant continues to spread across the country, raising concerns about new variants. Experts also warn that extreme caution should be exercised in dealing with new variants. The new variants are B16173, B11318, Lambda, and Kappa. Thiruvananthapuram: More concessions will come into effect in the state from today after the weekend lockdown. According to the covid positivity rate (TPR), regulation and exemptions are at the local level. The exemption has been given to four local bodies. Exemptions are in categories A and B (below TPR 16). Experts have suggested stricter controls in local bodies with test positive rates above 15. Lockdown at 10–15 should have similar restrictions. Exemptions will be given only in local bodies below TPR 5. The decision will be taken at the covid review meeting to be attended by Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan. The final decision will also assess the crisis in the employment sector.
Currently, the positivity rate is similar to the triple lockdown control in local bodies above 24. According to the Department of Health, the spread of covid is increasing with the granting of concessions to other local bodies. The state-wide positivity rate has remained above 10 for about a week. The TPR, which stood at 9.63 on the 21st, later rose to an average of 10.4. The conditions are being tightened again as the calculation that it will be below 7 in a week is wrong. Thiruvananthapuram: The Plus Two practical and graduation examinations, which were postponed due to covid, have started in the state. The exams will be held till July 12. The arrangements were in line with covid standards. 4.50 lakh students are appearing for the Plus Two practical examination at 2024 examination centers. Children who have been diagnosed with the covid disease will be tested later. The examination is divided into three batches a day.
Only 15 children will be admitted to the labs at a time. The equipment is disinfected at regular intervals. Adjustments were made to meet social distance and covid standards. The children took the exam without any worries even in the covid situation.
The exam is till July 12. The examination will be held after 12 in 39 schools functioning as covid treatment centers. Permission was granted to travel by showing a hall ticket in areas with strict restrictions. KSRTC has run a special bus service for children. Graduation final year semester exams also started today.
Srinagar: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) and the Indian Air Force have launched an investigation into the terrorist attack on an air force base at the Jammu and Kashmir airport. Dubai: The cancellation of flights from India to the UAE has been extended till July 21. The decision rests with the General Civil Aviation Authority.
