New Delhi: The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has approached the Supreme Court seeking the cancellation of anticipatory bail of the accused in the ISRO scam case. The CBI has sought cancellation of the anticipatory bail of accused S Vijayan, Thambi S, Durgadath, PS Jayaprakash, and former Intelligence Bureau Deputy Director RB Sreekumar. The CBI wants the accused to be questioned in custody to find out the facts of the case of national importance.

The CBI has said that the charges against the accused are serious and that the release of the accused on bail will affect the speed of the investigation. The CBI said in the petition that many witnesses were not willing to testify as the accused were out on bail.

RB Sreekumar is the seventh accused in the conspiracy case. S Vijayan is the first accused, Thambi S Durgadath is the second accused and PS Jayaprakash is the 11th accused. Nambi Narayanan had said that he had known Sreekumar since he was the commander of the VSSC. Nambi Narayan said Sreekumar was angry with him for rejecting the demand for a job for a close relative and had threatened to grieve in the future. The probe team led by CBI DySP Sunil Singh Rawat said that Sreekumar should be questioned in custody to prove the allegation.

Epidemic cases increases in National Capital; Dengue cases on the rise in Delhi

New Delhi: Dengue cases are on the rise in the national capital, with 53 new cases reported in the last week. The total number of cases in the state in a year is 211.

The number of dengue cases reported between January 1 and September 18, 2019, is the highest this year.

As of September 11, 158 dengue cases had been reported, according to a report by municipal co-operations. But no deaths have been reported due to dengue fever.

Diseases such as malaria, dengue, and chikungunya are also prevalent among the population. 86 cases of malaria and 44 cases of chikungunya have been reported.

The government says dengue cases reported so far in the capital are under control. Health Minister Satyender Jain said people should be vigilant and everyone should be prepared to deal with any situation caused by an epidemic.

Thiruvananthapuram: The Covid review meeting has decided to discontinue antigen testing in private labs as the first dose of vaccination in the state has reached 90 percent.

A special drive will be conducted to identify and vaccinate those who are over 65 years of age and have not been vaccinated yet, as soon as possible. Public awareness campaigns will be strengthened as the mortality rate is higher among those who do not receive the vaccine.

The CM suggested that a contact ban should be ensured through RRTs and neighborhood committees.
