Baghdad: Another IS terrorist attack in Iraq. 11 people were killed. Several people were injured. The terror group attacked the civilians in the village of Shitte in al-Rashid in Diyala province. The announcement was made by Iraqi security officials.
The attack was carried out with machine guns and other weapons. Earlier, two people were abducted by IS militants from the village. It is reported that a ransom was demanded to release them. It is alleged that the attack took place when this demand was not met. But IS has not yet responded to the incident.
Attacks targeting civilians in the country have been declining since the defeat of IS terrorists in Iraq in 2017. But it is reported that the sleeper cells of the terrorist organization are operating here.
Mumbai: Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan’s son Aryan Khan has not been granted bail in a luxury party drug case. The bail hearing in the Bombay High Court will continue today. The court is hearing the bail pleas of Aryan Khan, his friends, and co-accused Arbas Merchant and Munmun Dhamecha. The hearing will resume today at 2.30 pm.
Solicitor General Anil Singh appeared for the Narcotics Control Bureau. He told the court he would complete the hearing within an hour today.
Aryan Khan’s bail plea ended yesterday. Senior advocate Mukul Rohtagi appeared for Aryan Khan. The other accused’s plea was heard today.
Aryan Khan had told the court in his bail application that the Narcotics Control Bureau was misinterpreting his WhatsApp chats. Aryan said there was no evidence against him.
Aryan Khan’s judicial custody has been extended till October 30 by a special court in the Bombay High Court. A special court has denied bail to Aryan Khan because he was a regular drug dealer and had links with drug dealers.
Aryan’s friend Ananya Pandey has been questioned by the NCB in recent days. Ananya, 22, was questioned by the NCB based on a two-year-old WhatsApp chat on Aryan Khan’s phone. Ananya was also called for questioning on Monday but she did not appear before investigating officers. Ananya responded that the allegations were baseless.
Aryan Khan, son of Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan, was arrested on October 3 in connection with a drug case on a luxury ship. Aryan friends Arbas Merchant and Munmun Dhamecha were also arrested. Aryan and his friends are currently in Arthur Road Jail.
Thiruvananthapuram: The cyclone formed in the south-eastern Bay of Bengal and intensified into the low pressure in the central part of the Bay of Bengal. The Central Meteorological Department said it was likely to move westwards for the next three days.
This is the fifth low in October. The low-pressure area extends from the southeastern Arabian Sea to the coast of Kerala to the coast of Karnataka in the Middle East.
The Central Meteorological Department has forecast widespread thundershowers and isolated showers in Kerala till October 31 due to the formation of low pressure in the Bay of Bengal and low-pressure path in the Arabian Sea.

Thiruvananthapuram: Transport Minister Antony Raju said that the Department of Motor Vehicles has prepared a protocol for the journey of students during the covid period. Two-year tax exemption for school buses. The order will come down soon. The Transport Minister told the assembly that he had been directed to ensure the mechanical capacity of school vehicles. The department has completed all the arrangements to be made before the opening of the school. Only 1622 school buses received fitness certificates. Travel will not be difficult as not all children will be able to attend school together. KSRTC will provide bond service for children wherever necessary. With the opening of the school, KSRTC will launch an additional 650 buses. The minister said strict action would be taken against private buses that do not carry children.
‘25% of the capacity of a bus will be reserved for students. Only two-thirds of students can get to school. They are currently provided with access to school. There is no basis for concern ‘,the Minister clarified.
Washington: The United States has decided to ease the travel restrictions imposed on travelers from countries including India. The exemptions will come into effect from November 8. In early 2020, the United States imposed stricter restrictions on the travel rules of foreign travelers. The U.S. imposed travel restrictions on foreign nationals who visited the UK, Ireland, China, India, South Africa, Iran, and Brazil within 14 days.
Children under the age of 18 and individuals with certain health problems are excluded from the revised vaccine requirements. Non-tourist foreign nationals from more than 50 countries with a vaccination rate of less than 10 percent are also eligible for the exemption. But they must be vaccinated if they intend to stay in the United States for more than 60 days.
On September 20, the White House announced that it would lift restrictions on vaccinated travelers from 33 selected countries. The United States has also issued guidelines for flight attendants to know if foreign travelers have been vaccinated.
Chennai: Widespread protests against Prithviraj, the actor who wanted the Mullaperiyar Dam to be demolished in Tamil Nadu. Kochi: The crime branch investigating the Monson antiquities fraud case has recorded the statement of the state police chief Anil Kant. After Anil Kant took over as the state police chief, Monson visited the Mavungal police headquarters and met the DGP in person.
The day before, the crime branch had sought information from former DGP and Kochi Metro Rail MD Loknath Behra, ADGP Manoj Abraham, and IG Laxman.
DGP Anil Kanta told the Crime Branch that they were allowed to see them as office bearers of the Pravasi Malayalee Federation.
