Chennai: Widespread protests against Prithviraj, the actor who wanted the Mullaperiyar Dam to be demolished in Tamil Nadu. In the Theni district, the star’s portrait was burnt in front of the collectorate. Activists of the All India Forward Bloc protested.
Thamizhaga Vazhvurimai Katchi leader and MLA Velmurukan seek Tamil Producers Association to avoid Malayalam film stars including Prithviraj in this case.
The protest against the film star is widening in the state on social media also. The actor wanted to demolish the Mullaperiyar dam on his FaceBook page yesterday.
“Regardless of what the facts and findings are or will be, there is no reason or excuse for this 125-year-old dam to exist as a functioning structure! It’s about time we put politics and economics aside and do what is right. We can only trust the system, and let’s pray that the system makes the right decision!” Prithviraj posted on FaceBook.
