Thrissur: The mortal remains of Junior Warrant Officer A Pradeep consigned to flames with military honors at his home in Puthur. State Police have given the Guard of Honor.

Pradeep’s seven-year-old son lit the funeral pyre, assisted by Pradeep’s brother and other relatives.

The body was placed in a public darshan at the Puthur School where Pradeep studied. The latter arrived at the residence in Ponnukkara. A large crowd gathered around the school to pay their last respects to Pradeep. Hundreds of people came to the house to pay their last respects.

 His body was brought to Thrissur from Sulur. Minister K. Rajan and K. Krishna Kutty received the body at Walayar.
India’s first Chief of Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat, his wife Madhulika, and Brigadier LS Lidder were among those who were killed in the chopper crash that occurred reportedly due to bad weather. Pradeep was among the five of the 10 bodies identified on Saturday. 

There will be no Christmas exams in public schools in the state; Half-yearly examination in January

Thiruvananthapuram: There will be no Christmas examination in public schools in the state this time. Education experts say they plan to hold a mid-year exam instead of the Christmas exam.

The mid-year examination will be held in January. The assessment is that if no examination is conducted at the school level then it will be difficult for the students of 10th and 12th classes to appear for the general examination. The half-yearly examination will be considered for classes other than Class 10,12.

The number of Omicron cases has risen to 26 in the country

New Delhi: Omicron has confirmed one more person in the country. With this, the number of Omicron cases in the country has increased to 26. The new case was reported in Dharavi, Mumbai. The 49-year-old, who arrived in Mumbai from Tanzania, was confirmed by Omicron. This brings the total number of Omicron confirmed in Maharashtra to 11. The last two reported cases were in Gujarat.

The central government said no one had any serious symptoms. It is reported that no one has any symptoms and everyone is in good health. Omicron confirmed the two in Jamnagar, Gujarat. The Jamnagar Municipal Corporation said the health condition of the two patients was satisfactory. The Union Ministry of Health has directed the public to strictly adhere to the covid protocol such as masks and social distance in the face of the increasing number of people infected with the Omicron virus.

Sabarimala pilgrimage: More relaxation in Covid Norms

Thiruvananthapuram: As the spread of covid is declining, more relaxation has been given in the Sabarimala pilgrimages. The concessions were decided during a meeting between Devaswom Minister K Radhakrishnan and Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.

The traditional route from Pomba through Neelimala, Appachimedu, and Marakoottam will be opened. First aid facilities have been set up at Neelimala and Appachimedu. Pilgrimages will be allowed to stay overnight in Sannidhanam. 500 rooms have been set up as per covid norms for this.

Bathing in Pamba has also been allowed. But the district administration will take a decision after assessing the water level in Pamba.

Vaccine certification in India is recognized by 108 countries; Ministry of Health

New Delhi: Union Minister of State for Health Bharti Praveen Pawar has said in the Lok Sabha that 108 countries have approved India’s corona vaccine certificate for travel purposes.

However, not all countries require a corona vaccine certificate for such travel. He said that out of the list of countries with such requirements, 108 countries have ratified India’s Immunization Certificate. The Minister presented the figures till December 6, 2021, in the Lok Sabha.

The World Health Organization’s Emergency Use Listing (EUL) provides information about the vaccine to various countries. Pawar said essential data on vaccine quality, safety, efficacy, and performance would help countries determine the acceptability of vaccine use.

Thus, the vaccination certificate of people who have received EUL-approved immunizations is internationally recognized. Pawar added that many countries are relaxing the covid standards for those who have received the approved vaccine.

At least 49 people have been killed in a truck crash in Mexico

Mexico City: At least 49 people have been killed after two trucks collided near the southeastern city of Tucson in Mexico.  58 people were injured.  One of the crashed trucks was carrying more than 100 migrants from Central America.

 Of the 58 injured, three were in critical condition. They were rushed to nearby hospitals. The cause of the accident is not clear.  A detailed investigation into the incident has been announced.

New Delhi: The funeral of Chief Defence Staff General Bipin Rawat and his wife Madhulika Rawat was completed.  MPs E T Mohammed Bashir, Abdul Wahab, Abdul Samad Samadani, French and Israeli diplomats paid their last respects to General Bibin Rawat.

Meanwhile, the body of Malayalee  Junior Warrant officer A Pradeep, who lost his life in a military helicopter crash in Coonoor, is likely to be brought in three days. His brother Prasad said the family had been informed that it would take up to three days to complete the procedure.  It is learned that the body will be airlifted to Kochi and then to Thrissur by road.

Meanwhile, the Joint Force has launched an investigation into a military helicopter crash in Coonoor. Chief of Investigation Air Marshal Manavendra Singh and his team reached the spot and collected information.  The data recorder of the helicopter is being checked by the AAIB team.  DGP Shailendra Babu also said that the Tamil Nadu police would investigate the helicopter accident.  Ooty AD SP has appointed an investigation team led by Muthumanikyam.  He said he had taken statements from locals and would hand over the investigation information to the Joint Forces team.

Terrorist attack in Bandipora: Police officers martyred

Srinagar: Two policemen have been killed in a terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir. The attack happened in Gulshan Chowk, Bandipora. Following the incident, security officials launched a search for the terrorists on the spot. Authorities identified the dead as Mohammed Sultan and Faiz Ahmed. Police officers injured in the shooting were rushed to hospital but could not be rescued, reports said.

Omicron fear: International airline ban extended

New Delhi: In the wake of the Omicron expansion, the International aviation ministry has extended the ban on airlines. It has been extended till January 31. The ban was extended until December 15. The Director-General of Aviation in the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) has issued the new order.

However, the ban will not affect the freight service. The inspection for the passengers in the airports has been intensified.
