Thiruvananthapuram: It is reported that Omicron has been confirmed in the state as well. Omicron has been confirmed to a native of Ernakulam from the UK. He reached Kochi at 6. Covid is positive for the patient’s wife and mother-in-law. The health minister said his contact list had been prepared.

 Health Minister Veena George has warned people to be extra vigilant in the state in this situation. While Omicron has been confirmed in other countries, the state has been cautious. The activities were coordinated by regular meetings under the leadership of the Health Department. Special attention was paid from the airport as per the central guidelines. The aim is to detect the early stages of the disease, ensure expert treatment for them and thereby prevent the spread of the disease. Those who are positive from foreign countries are transferred to special wards in hospitals and those who are negative from risk countries are transferred to home quarantine. For those who are not, it is self-observation. The minister also said that samples of RT PCR-positive people from high-risk countries were being sent for omicron genetic testing.

Guwahati: ICMR has developed a two-hour test kit available for confirming Omicron. The kit was developed by ICMR’s Regional Medical Research Center in Dibrugarh, Assam.

Steps have been taken since November 24 to develop the Dibrugarh ICMR for the kit. Omicron, which has the potential to spread rapidly, is under scrutiny at airports and elsewhere. This eliminates the need to wait for hours for a test result.

 Officials said samples of 1,000 covid patients had been tested through the kit, including in countries where Omicron is widely distributed. The experiment was led by ICMR -RMRC Senior Scientist Dr. Biswajyoti Borkakotti. The licensing process for the kit is in progress. The license will be available by next week, officials said. The kit is being manufactured commercially by Kolkata-based GCC Biotech. In India, Omicron cases have been reported in Delhi, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, and Chandigarh.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Twitter account has been hacked. The personal account in the name of Narendra Modi was hacked. The PM’s office said the account was immediately restored.

The tweet, which appeared after the Prime Minister’s account was hacked, said that India was officially declaring Bitcoin legal and that the government would distribute 500 bitcoins to all citizens of the country. It was tweeted on December 12 at 2.11 am.

New Delhi: The bodies of all the soldiers killed in a helicopter crash have been identified. The DNA test results of the remaining four were received overnight. Military sources said more officers would be part of the team investigating the accident.

The bodies of four of the 13 people killed in the crash were yet to be identified. Their DNA test results came out around 10 pm. The bodies of Lieutenant Colonel Harjinder Singh, Havildar Satpal Rai, Lance Naik Gursewak Singh, and Lance Naik Jitendra Kumar have been identified and will be handed over to their relatives today.

Efforts are on to recover the data from the data recorder recovered from the accident site. The exact cause of the accident can be ascertained only after the data recorder’s test results are released. The Army has also deployed more officers in the investigation team led by Air Marshal Manvendra Singh. A parallel investigation by the Tamil Nadu police is also in progress.

New Delhi: India has invited Central Asian countries as guests on the upcoming Republic Day.

Central Asian countries such as Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan will be guests on Republic Day. This is the first time in the country that Central Asian countries are attending the event as guests. The 2018 ASEAN Summit was attended by all countries together.

With the participation of these countries in Republic Day, the relationship with India will be further strengthened. Former US President Barack Obama in 2015, former French President Francois Hollande in 2016, and UAE ruler bin Zayed Al Nahyan in 2017 were among the distinguished guests.

New Delhi: The Center has issued an alert to ten states, including Kerala, in the wake of the Omicron, the variant of covid. The Union Health Ministry has directed to increase vigilance in 27 districts where covid positivity is high. In Kerala, Kottayam, Wayanad, Idukki, Kollam, Ernakulam, Kannur, Thrissur, Pathanamthitta, and Alappuzha districts are included in this list.

Omicron has so far confirmed 33 cases in the country. Another case was confirmed in Delhi today. The review meeting was convened under the chairmanship of the Union Cabinet Secretary to discuss the current situation. Omicron has been confirmed for 33 people in five states.

Most of the patients are in Maharashtra. A ban has been announced in Mumbai. Apart from Maharashtra, Omicron is present in Karnataka, Delhi, Rajasthan, and Gujarat.

Vijayawada: Six students and a teacher drowned while bathing in the Krishna River in Guntur, Andhra Pradesh. The students and a teacher of the Vedic school died. The incident took place near Achampetta Madipadu in the Guntur district. They are said to be from Uttar Pradesh and Madhya Pradesh. The children, aged 15 to 17, and their teacher K Subramaniam, 24, were identified. Andhra Pradesh Governor Bishwa Bhushan Harichandan expressed deep grief over the incident.

Hyderabad: Four people, including women, have been arrested for trying to smuggle gold inside their bodies. The arrested are Sudanese nationals. The suspects were on their way to Hyderabad from Dubai with 7.3 kg of gold. According to customs, the suspects were trying to smuggle gold worth Rs 3.6 crore. Customs said a case has been registered in the incident and an investigation is underway.
