Omicron cases on the rise in the country; A total of 578 people were diagnosed with the disease

New Delhi: Omicron cases are on the rise in the country. So far, Omicron has confirmed 578 cases in 19 states. Delhi tops the list with the highest number of patients.

Delhi has the highest number of Omicron victims. 142 people were diagnosed with Omicron. So far, Omicron has confirmed 141 cases in Maharashtra. Kerala is third on the list with 57 patients. According to the Ministry of Health, 151 people have been cured in the country.

Chandigarh: BSF officials seized drugs worth Rs 200 crore in Punjab. Authorities seized 40 kg of heroin. The incident took place on Sunday in the Ferozepur sector. So many drugs were found in two incidents.

In the first incident, soldiers of the 101st Battalion found 34 kg of heroin hidden in 22 packets near the border outpost Mian Valley North. It is a drug worth around Rs 170 crore in the international market.

In the second incident, officers of the 116th Battalion seized six packets of heroin weighing six kilograms worth Rs 30 crore near the Mohammedi Wala, a border outpost. On Saturday, troops of the 136th Battalion found 11 packets of heroin weighing 10.852 kg near Barrek on the Indo-Pakistan border.

Encounter on Telangana-Chhattisgarh border; Six Naxals were killed

Hyderabad: An encounter between Naxals and security forces on the Chhattisgarh-Telangana border. Six Naxals have been reported killed so far.

The Telangana Police Force and the Chhattisgarh Police CRPF clashed with the Naxals. District Superintendent of Police Sunil Dutt said the clash took place within the confines of the Kistaram police station on the border of the two states.

SSLC exam from 31st March

Thiruvananthapuram: SSLC and Higher Secondary Vocational Higher Secondary second-year examinations will be held in the state in March. Education Minister V Sivankutty in Kanhangad announced the examination dates. The SSLC examination will be held from March 31 to March 29, 2022. The Higher Secondary examination will be held from March 30 to April 22, 2022, and the VHSE examination will be held from March 30 to April 22.

Model examination and practical examination will be conducted in connection with the main examination. The SSLC Model Examination will be held from March 21 to 25. Higher Secondary and Vocational Higher Secondary Model Examinations will be held from March 16 to 21. The practical exams will be held in the month of February-March.

SSLC Practical Examinations March 10 to 19. Higher Secondary will be from February 21 to March 15. The VHSE practical exams will be held from February 15 to March 11.

Kizhakkambalam Clash; Arrests of 50 people were recorded

Kochi: Police have arrested 50 people in connection with the attack of guest workers in the Kitex area. Those arrested will be produced in court today. S P K Karthik said efforts were on to find others and more arrests would be made soon. More than 100 people are currently in police custody in connection with the incident.

Migrant Laborers attacked police; Special Team deployed said Aluva Rural SP

Ernakulam: Aluva Rural S P K Karthik said that a special team has been appointed to probe the attack by migrant workers of Kitex in Kizhakkambalam. He said more than 150 people had been taken into custody in connection with the incident. Currently, the situation is under control. Police were deployed in the area. Security has been beefed up. A large police contingent is camping at the spot.

Police arrived at the spot knowing that the workers were getting drunk and causing a commotion. There were more than 500 workers. They were attacking the police. The clashes took place at a camp where migrant workers were staying during Christmas celebrations. Violence also spread against the police. The attackers set fire to two police jeeps. Five policemen, including a CI, were injured in the attack.

The clash took place in Kitex around midnight on Saturday. Company workers also attacked locals who were shot on their mobile phones. Police officers who arrived at the spot were pelted with stones. The control room jeep was smashed and set on fire. The policemen escaped by smashing the door of the jeep. Later, more policemen entered the Kitex camp and arrested the attackers.

Rural S P K Karthik said the attack took place under the influence of alcohol. Kunnathunadu CI Shajan sustained head and arm injuries. The Rural SP said that there were about 500 people in the mob and the situation was under control at present. It is alleged that intoxicants, including cannabis, are being used in the Kitex camp.
