Thiruvananthapuram: Health Minister Veena George has asked the people to be vigilant in the scenario of increasing the covid, Omicron, and Delta in the state. The minister also demanded that unnecessary trips and crowds be avoided. Within a week, there was a 100 percent increase in covid cases in the state.

The disease is most common in people between the ages of 20 and 40. Among these, health workers are also becoming infected. Therefore, it is imperative to follow the covid protocol everywhere. The minister said this was applicable to party conventions as well. The Delta variant is seen as the main reason for the increase in covid cases in the state. Omicron clusters have not been found to form.

Kochi: The high court has directed that Dileep should not be arrested till Friday in the case of conspiracy to assassinate the investigating officers in the case of attacking the actress. The court directed the government to state its position on Dileep’s anticipatory bail petition. The petition will be considered on Friday.

Dileep’s lawyer argued that the police had malicious intent behind the conspiracy case and were coming up with new allegations to prolong the trial of the case. The court asked the government to state its position on the anticipatory bail application and directed it not to proceed with the arrest proceedings until Friday.

Dileep, his brother Anoop and his sister’s husband Sooraj have filed a petition in the court seeking anticipatory bail in the conspiracy case.

According to the FIR, the accused had conspired to assassinate police officers, including former Kochi City Police Commissioner AV George, who was in charge of the investigation into the case. Based on the revelations of director Balachandra Kumar, the crime branch filed a case against Dileep and six others with non-bailable clauses.

Idukki: The post-mortem report on the stabbing death of SFI activist Dheeraj at Idukki Engineering College by Youth Congressmen has been released. Dheeraj’s death was due to a wound in the chest. He was stabbed three inches below the left chest with a knife. There is only one wound on the body. There are also bruises on the body.

According to the FIR, Dheeraj was stabbed to death by Youth Congress activists due to political animosity. Police have arrested Youth Congress leaders Nikhil Pyle and Jerin Jojo. Meanwhile, police are investigating why Nikhil, who is not even a student, came to the college with a knife. He said he took the knife for self-defense.

Idukki: SFI student stabbed to death. Dheeraj, a student of Idukki Engineering College and a native of Kannur, was killed. Those who stabbed Dheeraj fled.

The body is being kept at Idukki Medical College Hospital. The stabbing was reported during a post-election dispute. The students allege that the stabbing was carried out by KSU activists.

Thiruvananthapuram: Precaution-dose vaccination starts today in the state. The vaccine is given to health workers, covid Front fighters, and those over 60 years of age with related diseases. Blue boards will be set up to identify the vaccination center.

The precaution dose can be taken only 9 months after the second dose of the vaccine. The booking for the vaccination started yesterday. The vaccine can be booked online and in person. The dose is given at the vaccination center for adults over 18 years of age. The Department of Health recommends that people over the age of 60 be vaccinated only after consulting a doctor. Special care should be taken to receive the same vaccine as the previous two doses. The vaccination center will have blue boards. These boards will be placed at the entrance of the vaccination center, registration area, and vaccination area. Vaccination of children starting from January 3 will end today. More than four lakh children have been vaccinated so far. The health department aims to vaccinate 15 lakh children.
