Silverline Project; High Court allows the survey to continue

Kochi: The High Court has given permission to continue the Silverline land survey. The Division Bench quashed the order of the High Court Single Bench restraining the land survey. The order blocking the survey of the complainants’ land was quashed. The order was passed by a division bench headed by the Chief Justice. The Division Bench also dismissed the requirement to disclose DPR details.

On appeal, the government argued that the single bench’s order had not taken into account the arguments of the government and that the interim order of the single bench went beyond the consideration of the plaintiffs’ petition. The government told the court that suspending the social impact survey would delay the project, which could lead to higher project costs.
