New Delhi: The Union Ministry of Health has said that the regulations could be amended to take into account the new level of covid confirmation. Union Health Secretary Rajesh Bhushan has written to the states and Union Territories in this regard. Rajesh Bhushan said that the spread of covid in the country has been showing a significant decline since the 21st of last month. Many states had imposed stricter restrictions in the wake of the covid Third Wave. Many states and territories had closed their borders and airports. The health secretary said such restrictions should be relaxed given the declining prevalence of the disease. States and Union Territories have been directed to carefully assess the rate and spread of the disease. Rajesh Bhushan also demanded that the measures like testing, monitoring, treatment, vaccination, and compliance with covid norms should be further strengthened. In the last 24 hours, 27,409 people were newly diagnosed with the disease.

Mumbai: Four people were killed when a pick-up van collided with a tractor at a wedding party in Mumbai. Nine people were seriously injured. The accident happened around 8 pm on Tuesday. The team was returning from Nagpur after attending a wedding, met with an accident in Maharashtra’s Washim district. The SP said the victims were identified as from Sawanga Jahangir village in Washim district. The injured were rushed to a hospital.

New Delhi: The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways has amended the Central Motor Vehicle Rules, 1989. Safety standards for children under the age of four traveling on a motorcycle have been amended. Helmets should be worn for safety. The speed was limited to 40 kilometers per hour. The amendment also states that helmets must be worn that meet centrally approved standards.
The draft notification was released by the Center last August.

Patna: Former Bihar Chief Minister and RJD chief Lalu Prasad Yadav has been convicted in the latest case of fodder scam.  The guilty found by a CBI special court in Ranchi.  The court will pass the sentence on the 18th of this month.  Doranda is accused of embezzling Rs 139.35 crore from the treasury.  Earlier, Lalu was jailed in four cases.  The verdict comes after 26 years.
