Thiruvananthapuram: The depression formed in the Arabian Sea is likely to become a severe depression in the next 24 hours.

As a result of this, the Central Meteorological Department has informed us that there is a possibility of widespread rain in Kerala for the next five days and heavy rain with thunder and lightning at isolated places.

Actor Prathap Pothan passed away

Chennai: Actor and director Prathap Pothen passed away. He was 70 years old. He was found dead in a flat in Chennai. No further information is available. Prathap Pothan was an actor, director, writer, and producer who acted in many Malayalam films as well.
 Pratap Pothan was born in 1952 in an industrialist family in Thiruvananthapuram.

He acted in 95 films in Malayalam, Tamil, Kannada, Telugu, and Hindi languages. Prathap Pothan has directed around thirty films including Malayalam films Ritubhedam, Daisy and Oru Yathramozhi, Chaitanya in Telugu and Jeeva, Vetrivizha, and Luckyman in Tamil.

Alt News co-founder Mohammad Zubair was granted bail

New Delhi: Journalist and co-founder of Alt News, a fact-checking website, Mohammad Zubair has been granted bail by a Delhi court. The Patiala House Court granted bail to Zubair in a case filed by the Delhi Police on charges that he had hurt religious sentiments in his tweet in 2018. Additional Sessions Court Judge Devendra Kumar Jangala granted bail on one surety of Rs 50,000 and a condition not to leave the country without the permission of the court.
Zubair, who was arrested, approached the Sessions Court after the Metropolitan Magistrate denied him bail on July 2. Zubair, who was arrested on June 27, is currently in Delhi Police custody. The Supreme Court had earlier granted bail to Zubair in the case registered by the Uttar Pradesh Police, but he could not be released from jail as he remained in custody in the case registered by the Delhi Police. Six cases have been registered against him in UP. Yesterday, Zubair filed a petition in the Supreme Court seeking its cancellation. Actor Sreejith Ravi granted bail in POCSO case

Kochi: Sreejith Ravi was granted bail in POCSO case. Bail was granted by the High Court. Bail was granted in the case of performing nudity in front of children.
