In India’s automobile market dominated by Maruti Suzuki, the real battle is for second place. Last month, Indian automaker Mahindra overtook South Korea’s Hyundai to claim the second position. Mahindra has been winning over Indian consumers with its SUVs and electric vehicles.
For the third consecutive month, Mahindra has maintained this position. In June, Mahindra sold 47,306 vehicles, while Hyundai sold 44,024 units. Tata Motors followed with 37,083 units.
Mahindra’s sales were driven by popular models like the Scorpio, Bolero, Thar, XUV700, XUV400, and the BE.6. The company also exported 2,634 vehicles in June, marking an 18% increase compared to the same month last year.
