New Delhi: Fousiya Hassan, a native of Mali, who was acquitted in the ISRO spy case, passed away. The film actress was also an officer in the Maldives National Film Censor Board.

Fauzia was born on January 8, 1942. Educated at Mali Aminiya School and Colombo Polytechnic (Sri Lanka). In 1957, she started her career as a clerk in the Maldives Ministry of Foreign Affairs. From 1998 to 2008, she was the Censoring Officer at the National Film Censor Board of Maldives. He has acted in about 100 films.

She was imprisoned from November 1994 to December 1997 in the ISRO espionage case. Fauzia Hassan was the second accused in the case of leaking the secrets of ISRO. The first accused is Maryam Rasheeda, a native of Mali. Later CBI investigation found that the case was fabricated.

New Delhi:  New flag for Indian Navy. The Prime Minister will unveil the flag at a function in Kochi on Friday. India’s first indigenous aircraft carrier Vikrant is being commissioned and the flag will also be unveiled.

The new flag represents India’s heritage. In 2014, ‘Satyameva Jayate’ in Devanagari script was added to the flag. This flag has been replaced by a new flag denoting Indian heritage.

The flag currently used by the Navy is white with a red cross and the national flag nearby. This is a naval flag modeled after the Commonwealth of Nations. The naval flag was changed in 2001.

The ‘Red Cross’, which was considered part of British heritage, was taken away and thrown away. But in 2004, the old flag was re-used with minor changes. The change was the way the Ashoka pillar was inscribed in the center of the red cross.

Chennai: Ex-boyfriend of actress Amala Paul, has been arrested for allegedly trying to extort money from Amala Paul. Bhavninder, a singer, was arrested by the police after the actress filed a complaint with the Villupuram District Crime Branch Police pointing out that he cheated and threatened her. In the complaint, the actress alleges that Bhavninder Singh tried to extort money by threatening her and causing financial and mental difficulties in her life.

 The actress had filed a defamation case against Bhavninder in the Chennai High Court in November 2020. Amala Paul complained that the pictures of a private photoshoot conducted in 2018 were falsely circulated as if the marriage had ended and she was sexually assaulted. It is also reported that the court was directed to file a case against Bhavninder.

Amala Paul and Bhavninder ran a firm related to the film business. But Amala Paul claims in the complaint that Bhavninder put her under mental and financial stress by misusing her funds and properties. The actress also alleged that by spreading the pictures taken from the photo shoot, he made a deliberate attempt to create a misunderstanding without her permission.

In March 2020, Bhavninder shared a picture of the two in the traditional Rajasthani bride and groom costume on social media. After the news of Amala’s marriage spread, the actress clarified that the pictures were taken for a photo shoot. Bhavninder removed them soon after. Although the pictures were taken down, many people shared them as wedding pictures.

Amala, who married director AL Vijay in 2014 after four years of love, got divorced in 2017. Amala Paul’s last released movie is Cadaver. The film was released through Hotstar. The actress’s upcoming projects are Mammootty’s Christopher and Prithviraj’s ‘Adu Jivetham’.

Ahemmadabad: Vaishali Balsara (34), a famous singer in Gujarat, was found dead in her car, and the post-mortem report has come out saying it was a murder. Vaishali was found dead in the backseat of his own car. The post-mortem report says that Vaishali was killed by strangulation. The police have intensified the investigation into the incident.

On Sunday morning, information was received that a woman was found dead inside a car on the banks of the Par River, 12 km from Valsad. On further investigation, it was identified as Vaishali. The singer’s body was found after her husband complained that she was missing.
But the police say that no signs of a scuffle have been found at the scene. The police stated that there were no other injuries on the body and there was no wrinkle in the clothes. But so far no clues have been received regarding the murder. The police informed that they are waiting for the forensic report and 5 teams have been appointed for the investigation. Vaishali left home at 6.45 pm on Saturday. She told her husband that she was going to meet her friend near the Ayyappa temple. Vaishali is married to guitarist Hitesh Bulsara. They got married in 2011. They have two children.

No ban on Chinese phones below Rs 12,000; Union Ministry

New Delhi: Union Minister Rajeev Chandrasekhar has said that Chinese phones below Rs 12,000 will not be banned in the country. The minister clarified that Indian companies need to contribute to the electronic ecosystem from their side and that does not mean excluding foreign companies.

“Instead of launching only components for handsets below Rs 12,000, it should be extended to the entire range. Currently, there are no plans to ban Chinese phones priced below Rs 12,000,” said Rajeev Chandrasekhar.

The Union Minister said that the country is targeting electronic manufacturing of 300 billion dollars. The central government has also targeted US$ 120 billion in exports by 2025-26.

International Driving Permit has been unified in the country

New Delhi:  Central Govt to consolidate International Driving Permit. The Union Ministry of Surface Transport and Highways issued a notification in this regard on 26th August 2022 to facilitate citizens across the country in obtaining International Driving Permit.

India, being a signatory to the International Road Traffic Convention, 1949 (Geneva Convention), has decided to make licenses available on a mutually acceptable basis between countries as prescribed by this convention.At present, the format, size, model, color, etc. of the International Driving Permit issued varied across states. Because of this, many citizens faced difficulties in foreign countries. With the new amendment, the format, size, color, etc. of the permit has been standardized across India to conform to the basic model of the Geneva Convention.A QR code has also been introduced to link the permit with the driving license. For the convenience of regulatory authorities, a comparison of vehicle categories covered by various conventions and the Central Motor Vehicles Rules, 1989 has also been added.

Vizhinjam hunger strike ended

Vizhinjam: The hunger strike led by priests at Vizhinjam port has ended. The hunger strike was held on the allegation that the police prevented the delivery of food to the workers who came to the strike and beat up the priests.

Meanwhile, the district administration has informed that the policemen mentioned in the complaint will not be assigned to duty. With this, it was decided to end the hunger strike.

Under the leadership of Samara Samiti Convenor Fr. Theodosius D’Cruz, six people, including priests, took an indefinite hunger strike in front of the port gate.

The strike committee stated that they will continue the strike until the seven demands they put forward are accepted.

Thiruvananthapuram: Heavy rain continues in Pathanamthitta, Ernakulam, Kottayam, and Alappuzha districts. The water level has risen in Meenachilar in Kottayam.

Because of the continuing heavy rains, the Collector has declared a holiday for the educational institutions of the three districts.

The holiday is not applicable for pre-scheduled university examinations.’- the collector informed.

The District Collector has declared a holiday for all educational institutions in Kuttanad taluk of Alappuzha. All educational institutions in the Pathanamthitta district are on holiday. The District Collector informed us that the holiday will not apply to the previously scheduled university examinations.

Meanwhile, 43 families in Kottayam were shifted to the relief camp.

Change in weather warning, orange alert in three places; Heavy rain till Friday

Thiruvananthapuram: Heavy rains are expected in all districts except Thiruvananthapuram in the state.
An orange alert was announced in three districts in a warning issued by the meteorological department at 1 pm. A yellow alert has also been announced in ten districts.

Orange alert in Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, and Idukki districts. A yellow alert has also been declared in all other districts except Thiruvananthapuram.

Heavy rain is expected to continue in the state till September 2. A yellow alert has been announced in all districts except Kasaragod tomorrow. The next day, there is a warning that there will be heavy rain everywhere, including Kasargod and Lakshadweep.

On Thursday, the Meteorological Department said that there is a possibility of heavy rain in the districts except for Malappuram and Wayanad.
