Palakad: Prime Minister Narendra Modi condoled the Palakkad Vadakkanchery accident. A compensation of Rs 2 lakh was announced for the family of the deceased. Fifty thousand rupees will be given as compensation to those injured in the accident. After visiting the spot, Minister MB Rajesh said that the incident in Vadakkanchery was a terrible accident and the injured survived.
Minister K Krishnankutty Palakkad District Collector Mrinmai Joshi visited the incident site and assessed the situation.
Palakad: The bus driver, who eloped after an accident on the national highway in Palakkad Vadakkanchery, has been arrested by the police. While he was escaping to Thiruvananthapuram, Chavara police chased him and arrested him. He was chased by the Vadakancherry police. The tourist bus was a group from Baselios Vidyanikethan School, Ernakulam, who had gone on an excursion to Ooty. There were 37 students, five teachers and two bus staff in the bus. Eyewitnesses say that the tourist bus was speeding.

New Delhi: Army’s Cheetah helicopter crashed near Tawang in Arunachal Pradesh. One pilot died. Lieutenant Colonel Saurabh Yadav died. The co-pilot was seriously injured. He was admitted to the military hospital. The accident happened around 10 am during a regular flight.
The cause of the accident is not clear. The helicopter crashed at Nyamjang Chhu near BTK area of Jemaitang Circle.
Jammu: Security forces killed four terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir’s Shopian. The encounter took place in the early morning in the Drach area. Clashes continue in the Mulu region.
