All tourist buses are directed to be inspected within two weeks: Minister Antony Raju

Thiruvananthapuram: Antony Raju said that the transport department enforcement has instructed the officials to check all the tourist buses within two weeks. Antony Raju also asked that when schools call tourist buses, they should check if it is a blacklisted vehicle.
Meanwhile, the police have charged Jojo Patros (Jomon), the driver of the tourist bus that caused the accident in Vadakenchery with murder. Alathur DYSP R Ashokan said that the arrested Jomon will be produced in court today.

A blood test will be conducted to determine whether Jomon was under the influence of alcohol. Previous cases against Jomon will also be checked. The police also informed that a case will be filed against the bus owner Arun for appointing Jomon as the driver who drove dangerously.

KSRTC launches first LNG bus service

Thiruvananthapuram: In the wake of the Vadakkencherry accident, vehicle inspection has been tightened across the state from today.

The Transport Commissioner has directed to check all vehicles, including buses, which are violating the law.

Interstate vehicles will also be checked. It has been instructed to find vehicles that are not equipped with GPS. Action is also based on High Court intervention.

Yesterday, the motor vehicle department banned five buses that had arrived in Kottayam Chingavanam for recreational travel. The buses were equipped with air horns and laser lights. It was banned after the speed locks were found disconnected.

Action has also been taken against the bus in Kottarakkara, Kollam. A bus without a speedometer was brought for the pleasure trip. The bus, which was brought for a recreational trip of a private college in Talachira, was stopped. A laser light and loud sound system were found on the bus.

Kidnapped Indian family found dead in California; The bodies were found

Orchard: Kidnapped Sikh family found dead in California. Four people, including an eight-month-old baby, were killed.
The family from Hoshiarpur, Punjab was abducted from Merced County, California on Monday.
Jasdeep Singh (36) and Jasleen Kaur (27), their eight-month-old baby Aaruhi Deri and the baby’s uncle Amandeep Singh (39) were killed. Their bodies were found in an orchard on Indiana Road on Wednesday.
The police said that the garden worker was the first to see the dead bodies. All four bodies were lying side by side. According to the reports, Jesus Manuel Salgado kidnapped them.
CCTV footage of the family being tied up and loaded into a truck was released earlier. Salgado has been arrested by the police. He attempted suicide in police custody and has been admitted to hospital.

The boat was caught by a team of the navy which was patrolling 1200 nautical miles from the coast of Kochi. 200 kg of heroin, a deadly drug, was recovered from the boat. 6 Iranian nationals were arrested. The processed drugs were being smuggled from Pakistan to Iran. The group’s goal was to reach Iran by traveling through the Indian Ocean.

The seized boat and drugs were brought to the Kochi coast and handed over to the Narcotics Control Bureau. NCB has taken up further investigation. The Coastal Police has also launched a parallel investigation. The initial conclusion is that the drugs did not reach India. The matter will be clarified only after the interrogation of the arrested persons is completed.
