The boat was caught by a team of the navy which was patrolling 1200 nautical miles from the coast of Kochi. 200 kg of heroin, a deadly drug, was recovered from the boat. 6 Iranian nationals were arrested. The processed drugs were being smuggled from Pakistan to Iran. The group’s goal was to reach Iran by traveling through the Indian Ocean.

The seized boat and drugs were brought to the Kochi coast and handed over to the Narcotics Control Bureau. NCB has taken up further investigation.
