Jammu:  Encounter again in Jammu and Kashmir. The encounter took place in Thengpo village of Kokarnag in the Anantnag district. Two terrorists were killed in the encounter that started at midnight on Sunday. Encounter is continuing in the area.
Last day, two Lashkar terrorists were in the custody of the Jammu and Kashmir police. Ishfaq Majeed Dar, a native of Sadarkota Bala, is one of the arrested.

Operation Focus Three: Motor Vehicle Department has tightened inspection on tourist buses

Thiruvananthapuram: After the accident in Vadakkencherry, the motor vehicle department has tightened inspection on tourist buses. The department has also started action against the buses that have violated the law. A special drive called Operation Focus Three is being conducted till the 16th of this month.

Inspections of tourist buses reveal serious violations of the law. Illegal modifications, speed governor tampering, banned air horns, laser lights, music system etc. were found in most of the inspected buses. The Motor Vehicle Department takes strict action against buses, owners and drivers found guilty of offences.

During the inspection, tourist buses with hidden number plates were also found. Buses also ply without paying toll. Last day alone, 1,279 cases were registered in various places in the state. Fitness of 8 buses and registration of 2 buses cancelled. And the license of 9 drivers has been cancelled. The inspection of the motor vehicle department is focused on tourism centers and main roads. The department is also preparing a list of buses to be blacklisted as part of the inspection.

Big ganja hunt in Thalayolaparambu

Kottayam: One hundred kilos of ganja were seized from the Talayolaparamu. The police seized the ganja they were trying to smuggle in the vehicle. Two people were arrested. Both are natives of Kottayam. KenSabu from Etumanoor and Ranjith Raju from Mundakayam have been arrested by Thalayolaparambu police.

They were caught during the inspection conducted by the police and the excise department. The vehicle inspection took place around 6:30 in the morning. The accused who tried to escape were chased by the police and caught. The police are investigating where it was brought from and where it was taken.

Kottayam:  Jose K Mani was re-elected as the Chairman of Kerala Congress (M). The election of new office bearers was held at the party meeting in Kottayam.

Thomas Chazhikkadan, Dr. N Jayaraj and P K Sajeev are the Vice-Chairmen. N M Raju was also elected as the treasurer.
There are seven members in the political affairs committee. 15 general secretaries, 23 high-powered committee members, 91 steering committee members, 131 secretariat members and 536 state committee members were elected in the meeting. The meeting also approved Minister Roshi Augustin as the Parliamentary Party Leader.

New Delhi: Orange alert has been announced in 5 states due to heavy rains. The alert was announced in Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Gujarat. Meanwhile, heavy rain continues in Delhi for 2 days.

MK Stalin again at the head of DMK

Chennai: Chief Minister MK Stalin was elected as DMK president. Stalin was elected unopposed in the party council meeting held in Chennai. MP Kanimozhi was also elected as deputy general secretary.

Ahead of the submitting nomination paper Stalin visited his father and former DMK president M Karunanidhi’s residence in Gopalapuram and laid flowers on his portrait.

Stalin also visited Karunanidhi’s memorial at Marina. After the death of Karunanidhi, Stalin became the president of DMK on August 28, 2018.

The death toll in Ireland’s gas station explosion has risen to seven

Dulbin: The death toll in the explosion at the gas station in northwest Ireland has risen to 7. Three people were killed on Friday and four more died overnight, Irish police said. Eight people are being treated after an explosion at an Applegreen service station in Chrislow, County Donegal. The blast leveled the gas station building, which housed the village’s main store and post office, and damaged surrounding buildings. Rescue operations by emergency services lasted through the night.

Ahmedabad:  Huge hunt for intoxicating drugs on the coast of Gujarat. 50 kg of heroin worth Rs 360 crore was seized from the Pak boat. 6 people were arrested in connection with the incident. Those arrested are believed to be Pakistani nationals. The operation was jointly conducted by Gujarat ATS and Coast Guard. The boat has been brought to Jakhau port in Kutch.

The NIA is also gearing up to investigate Pakistan’s links in drug trafficking by sea. The NIA stated that Haji Salim group had earlier smuggled drugs worth 3000 crores and AK 47 guns through the Indian Ocean and the investigation into their network is progressing.
The Indian Navy has launched an operation against the international drug mafia. Navy operation is based on the report of agencies like RO, NCRB and IB. The Indian Navy will now directly conduct the hunt for narcotics along India’s maritime borders.

Modified tourist buses will catch on; Strict inspection from today

Thiruvananthapuram: The Motor Vehicle Department will conduct strict inspections against illegally modified tourist buses from today. It is suggested that all the illegally installed ones should be replaced and the bus should be brought back for inspection within two days. Action has been taken against 23 buses for illegal conversion. A fine of Rs 6,500 was also imposed on the buses.

The Motor Vehicle Department has taken action against 13 tourist buses in Aluva. The violation was discovered during the inspection conducted yesterday. The action was taken against 29 buses in Ernakulam only yesterday. The fitness of two buses has also been cancelled.

Bus owner Arun was arrested in Vadakkancheri bus accident. The owner was arrested on charges of incitement. The investigation revealed that Jomon violated the speed limit 19 times in three months. The owner was also arrested in this situation. More people are being questioned in the incident.
