Thiruvananthapuram: Revenue Department Minister K. Rajan has ordered an investigation based on a newspaper report that certificates including income certificates issued by the Revenue Department are being forged.

The Revenue Secretariat meeting presided over by the Minister today will seriously discuss the matter and a team comprising the Assistant Commissioner of Land Revenue in charge of IT and a Tehsildar rank officer headed by Joint Secretary of the Revenue Department J Biju will conduct the investigation.

Preliminary investigation has revealed that such fake certificates are being obtained through the recognized Janasevana Kendras. The minister has ordered a further investigation and submitted the report within 2 weeks.

London:  UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak said that 3,000 visas will be allotted to Indians every year. He also clarified that visas are issued to young professionals from India to work in the UK. The positive news for Indian citizens comes after the meeting between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the British Prime Minister during the G-20 summit in Bali, Indonesia.

The UK is trying to revive plans for a trade deal with India. The British government said India is the first country to benefit from the scheme, which is part of a visa agreement approved last year. ‘UK-India Young Professionals Scheme approved, 3,000 places available for degree-educated Indian nationals aged 18-30 to come to the UK and work for up to two years’ – tweeted the British Prime Minister’s Office after the meeting.

Sebi Approves Adani Group’s offer to buy NDTV

New Delhi: The Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI) has approved Adani Group’s open offer to buy an additional 26 percent stake in media major NDTV. The open offer period is from November 22nd to December 5th. The fixed price is Rs 294 per share.

Adani Group owned a 29.18 percent stake in NDTV through RRPR, the promoter company. In addition to this, an open offer to buy an additional 26 percent stake was also approved as per SEBI regulations. Once this becomes possible, NDTV will be under the control of Adani Group with a 55.18 percent stake.

RRPR borrowed Rs. 400 crores from Vishwapradhan Commercial Pvt Ltd in 2009 to repay the loan from ICICI Bank. In return for this, 99.5 percent of RRPR’s shares were pledged. Later Vishwapradhan became a part of the Adani Group. The Adani Group used the right to acquire shares of RRPR instead of the borrowed amount.
