Terror funding case: NIA raid in Kashmir Valley

Srinagar: NIA raids 11 locations in Kashmir Valley. The National Investigation Agency’s probe is related to the Jamaat-e-Islami terror funding cases. The NIA raids were conducted in Budgam, Baramulla, Kupwara, and Pulwama.

The NIA on Wednesday seized the properties of three persons found to be involved in militancy-related activities in the Kashmir Valley.
The central agency has attached six shops in south Kashmir’s Pulwama and one house in Kupwara. It also includes a two-room building in Shopian. The assets were confiscated on the orders of a special NIA court in Jammu.

Son-in-law of Tamil Nadu minister arrested in molestation case

Chennai: Police have arrested Satish Kumar, son-in-law of Tamil Nadu Devaswom minister PK Shekhar Babu, in a molestation complaint. The lady had lodged a complaint alleging that she had been raped by a promise of marriage. The arrest was based on a complaint lodged by the woman at the Otteri police station in 2018, alleging that she had a 4-year relationship with Satish Kumar and that he had cheated on her.

Satish has been absconding since May 2022. Later, the court issued a non-bailable arrest warrant against him. The police said that Satish is included in the list of regular criminals.
Meanwhile, Satish’s wife and Shekharbabu’s daughter Jayakalyani came forward alleging that the police filed a case against her husband on her father’s instructions. She also said that Shekhar Babu was opposed to her love affair with Satish.

Chief Minister MK Stalin has filed a defamation case against BJP President Annamalai

Chennai: The Tamil Nadu government has filed a defamation case against BJP state president K Annamalai. The City Public Prosecutor accused Annamalai of defaming Chief Minister MK Stalin. The BJP leader had recently alleged that MK Stalin had paid Rs. 200 crore in 2011 to secure the Chennai Metro contract. Annamalai claimed that leaders of Stalin’s party, DMK, acquired assets worth Rs 1.34 lakh crore through corruption and alleged that the chief minister’s family members were directors of a Dubai company investing in the state.

A notice was sent to Annamalai asking him to apologize and withdraw the allegations, but he refused. Following that, the case was filed.
Minister Udayanidhi and MP Kanimozhi had also sent notices demanding compensation against Annamalai.

Another explosion near the Golden Temple; 5 people were arrested

Chattisgarh: Another explosion was reported near the Golden Temple in Amritsar. It is reported that a big explosion was heard. This is the third explosion near the Golden Temple in a week.

Five people were arrested in connection with the incident. The police and forensic team reached the spot and conducted an investigation. Police officials responded that this was an attempt to disrupt the peaceful atmosphere in the area.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The time limit for detecting traffic violations using artificial intelligence cameras and collecting fines has been extended.  Fines will be levied from June 5 for violations detected by AI cameras.  The decision was taken in a meeting chaired by the Minister of Transport.  It has also been decided to seek legal advice on providing relaxation for children to be accompanied by their parents on two-wheelers.

 Earlier it was announced that the fine will be collected after May 19.  May 19 was designated as Awareness Month.  AI cameras have been opened in the state since April 20.

 Violations are monitored by 726 AI cameras of the Motor Vehicles Department.  Heavy fines are levied for violations.

Murder of Dr Vandana Das;  The accused Sandeep was remanded for 14 days

Kottarakkara: Sandeep, the accused in the case of stabbing Dr. Vandana Das to death in Kottarakkara hospital, is on remand.  Remanded for 14 days.  Sandeep was taken to Poojappura Central Jail.  The doctors’ strike will continue in all districts of the state in protest against the incident.  The IMA asked the Chief Minister to pass the appointment as an ordinance as soon as possible to ensure the safety of health workers.

 The brutal murder that shook Kerala took place on Wednesday morning.  22-year-old Vandana was brutally stabbed to death by a female doctor, Sandeep House Surgeon, who was brought by the police to the Kottarakkara Taluk Hospital for a medical examination.  A native of Kottayam Muttuchira, Dr. Vandana Das is the only daughter of KG Mohandas and Vasantakumari, a businessman in Kottayam Muttuchira.  Sandeep Nedumbana, a native of Kuvatur, is a UP school teacher.  He was suspended from service.  The police say that the accused is addicted to drugs.

 The FIR states that Dr. Vandana was followed and stabbed by Sandeep.  While applying medicine to the leg wound, Sandeep took the scissors.  Without any provocation, Vandana was first stabbed in the head.  The FIR also states that when he tried to run away, he shouted that he would stab you all.
