Supreme Court intervened in Manipur issue; A special committee of former judges was appointed to investigate

New Delhi: The Supreme Court intervened in the Manipur issue. A high-level committee consisting of three High Court judges was appointed to investigate. A three-member committee headed by former High Court judge Geeta Mittal was appointed. Shalini Joshi and Asha Menon, a Malayali, are the other members of the committee.

The committee will submit a report to the court on human rights issues, the situation in the camps and rehabilitation. An ex-IPS officer will also be appointed to supervise the special investigation teams and assist the court. The Supreme Court has directed the Manipur government to provide adequate security for the committee.

Attorney General R Venkitaramani and Solicitor General Tushar Mehta appeared on behalf of the central and state governments. Both have also submitted the report of the cases sought by the Supreme Court on August 1. Manipur DGP Rajeev Singh appeared before the bench to answer questions on the steps taken by the government so far in connection with the ongoing conflicts.

Bus staff should not discriminate against students for providing concessions; High Court

Kochi:  High Court says bus staff should not discriminate against students for giving concessions. Students should be accorded the same treatment as other passengers. The court asked the police to ensure that there are no law and order problems. The court also observed that discrimination by bus staff against students often leads to violation of law and order situations.

Bus concession fare revision is a matter of government policy. The High Court said that issues including reforms should be considered jointly by the government and student organizations. The High Court’s reference is in an order related to a criminal case against bus employees.

Setback for Senthil Balaji:  The Supreme Court rejected the petition against the arrest

New Delhi: The Supreme Court has dismissed the petition filed by Tamil Nadu Minister V Senthil Balaji and his wife Rangshi against the Madras High Court verdict against him in the money laundering case. A bench comprising Justices AS Bopanna and MM Sundaresh dismissed the petition.

The court remanded Senthil in ED custody till August 12 and left the issue of whether police custody cannot be granted after the 15-day remand period for consideration by the bench. Senthil and his wife approached the Supreme Court against the action of the High Court which rejected the action of questioning the arrest.

Mumbai train massacre; Accused Chetan Singh has been charged with promoting enmity on grounds of religion and kidnapping as well

Mumbai: RPF constable Chetan Singh, accused in the Mumbai-Jaipur Central Express train massacre, has also been charged with promoting enmity on grounds of religion as well. As per the request of the Railway Police, the custody of the accused was extended till August 11. Earlier, a case was registered against him under the charge of murder and under various sections of the Arms Act.

The carnage that shocked the country took place in the early hours of July 31. After killing Assistant Sub-Inspector Tikaram Meena, the accused went to the next coaches and selected the Muslim passengers and opened fire.

Asghar Abbas Ali, Abdul Qader Muhammad Hussain and Syed Saifuddin were killed. 

Parumala murder attempt case; Anusha’s bail plea was adjourned to tomorrow

Pathanamthitta: The bail application of accused Anusha in the attempted murder case inside a private hospital in Parumala has been postponed to tomorrow. The verdict will be issued after hearing the detailed arguments.

Meanwhile, the police said that Anusha is currently the only accused in the Parumala assassination attempt case and there is currently no evidence against Sneha’s husband. Sneha’s father Suresh had said that the accused, who came in the guise of a nurse, tried to inject her daughter three times. The daughter was saved only because her wife saw her. Suresh said how Anusha came to the room and that there was no complaint regarding her son-in-law.

Anusha is a classmate of son-in-law Arun. Anusha told Arun that she wants to see the baby and wife. Based on that, Anusha was told to come to the hospital. But he reached the hospital when Arun was not there.

The woman came to the room wearing a nurse’s overcoat. Then forced to take the injection. Her mother asked why the injection now since she was discharged. Saying that there is one more injection, Sneha was holding the hand tightly and trying to inject the syringe. The father had said that when the wife made noise, the hospital staff came and grabbed the young woman and detained her.

Kochi, August 7: Malayalam film director Siddique was hospitalized in Kochi on Monday after suffering a heart attack. He was admitted to the ICU of Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences. Siddique was being treated for pneumonia and liver infection. He had been recovering from these illnesses when he suffered a heart attack at 3:00 a.m. on Monday.

Siddique, 63, is a well-known figure in the Malayalam film industry. He has directed over 100 films, including some of the biggest hits in the industry. His films include Friends, Lohithante, Comedy King, and Mister Big.

Siddique’s health condition is said to be stable. He is under the observation of doctors. His fans and colleagues have wished him a speedy recovery.

The latest news coming from the world of cricket is that Team India lost the second match in a row in the five-match Twenty20 series against the West Indies. West Indies beat India in the second Twenty20 match by 2 wickets. Windies beat India’s target of 153 runs in 18.5 overs with the cost of eight wickets. The victory gave West Indies a 2-0 lead in the five-match series.

When the match was in its final overs, the unbreakable duo of Alzari Joseph and Aqeel Hussain began to cause problems for Team India. Also, Nicolas Puran hit a spectacular half-century to propel the West Indies team closer to victory. Puran scored a half-century off 29 balls. He scored 67 runs off 40 balls, including six fours and four sixes. Puran’s batting was crushing India’s aspirations, and the Indian bowlers were helpless.

West Indies batsman slumped when Pooran’s wicket fell. West Indies failed when Romario Shepherd (0) was run out by Akshar Patel and Jason Holder (0) was dismissed by Chahal. Hetmeyer also succumbed later. West Indies fell from 126 for four to 129 for eight as a result of this. This was a chance for Indian bowlers to seek victory but unfortunately luck didn’t favour Team India. 

Aqeel Hussain’s unbroken 16* off 10 balls in the ninth wicket and Alzari Joseph’s 10* off 8 balls denied India victory. The Windies won their second match with seven balls to spare. For India, Hardik Pandya grabbed three wickets and Chahal was able to take two wickets. Arshdeep and Mukesh each took one wicket. Tilak Verma hit a half-century for the second time in a row. Thilak made 51 off 41 balls, including five fours and a six.

Elon Musk, the CEO of Tesla, stated on Sunday through his X formerly known as Twitter that his fight with Mark Zuckerberg will be live-streamed on his micro-blogging site, X. So now it’s officially confirmed that the fight between Elon Musk and META CEO Mark Zuckerberg will be aired soon. 

In June, the two technology billionaires agreed to compete in a cage match. Musk remarked on Twitter at the time that he was “up for a cage fight” with Zuckerberg. In response, the Facebook CEO tweeted a screenshot of Musk’s tweet with the phrase “send me location.” Musk then responded to Zuckerberg’s statement by giving a location as “Vegas Octagon.”

According to the post, Elon Musk on X, the duel between Zuck and Musk will be broadcast live on X. ‘All earnings will be donated to veteran charities,’ Musk announced on X. When a user on X inquired about the need for fighting, Musk responded, ‘Men love fighting.’

CHANDRAYAAN-3 SET IN THE LUNAR ORBIT.

Chandrayaan-3 has been successfully inserted into a Lunar orbit and is expected to land on the moon on 23rd August at 05:47 PM.

The next milestone has been achieved by Chandrayaan-3 by entering into lunar orbit towards the accomplishment of a soft landing on the Moon’s surface. ISRO Has announced the report of successful insertion into the lunar trajectory.

On August 5 Lunar Orbit Insertion(LOI) maneuver was completed successfully. ISRO Tweeted “MOX, ISTRAC, this is Chandrayaan-3. I am feeling lunar gravity”. Chandrayaan-3 has been successfully inserted into lunar orbit. A retro-burning at the Perilune was commanded from the Mission Operations Complex (MOX), ISTRAC, Bengaluru. The next operation – reduction of orbit – is scheduled for Aug 6, 2023, around 23:00 Hrs. IST.

“The health of the spacecraft is being continuously monitored from the Mission Operations Complex (MOX) at ISRO Telemetry, Tracking and Command Network (ISTRAC) in Bengaluru. All the systems of Chandrayaan-3 are healthy”, announced ISRO.

The following lunar orbit manoeuver is planned for tomorrow at approximately 23:00 hrs IST. Over the first weeks of August, the spacecraft is assigned to complete 5 to 6 orbits around the moon, slowly transitioning to a circular 100 km orbit.

Precisely around the following 10 days, the landing site on the southern pole of the moon will be specified. Thereafter, the craft will be deorbited and prompted for a soft landing attempt on August 23 at 5:47 pm. India’s Chandrayaan-3 is continuing its journey towards a remarkable lunar landing attainment.
