Thiruvananthapuram: Government order to increase the compensation in Vizhinjam project. The compensation amount has been increased to Rs 4.20 lakh for the Kattamara workers who lost their livelihood partially as part of the project work. 53 workers will get compensation under this item. The government has sanctioned 2 crore 22 lakh rupees for this purpose.
The compensation amount was recommended by the appeal committee meeting chaired by the district collector. The amount has been sanctioned by the government for 7 years during which the construction has taken 180 working days per year. In the discussion held by the fishermen with the government, they demanded to increase the compensation amount.

Yellow alert has been declared in 10 districts from Thiruvananthapuram to Malappuram today. Light to moderate rain is forecast at isolated places.

Damascus: Syria accuses Israel of attacking two important airports in Syria. The runways were destroyed in the attack. Both airports are temporarily closed. The attacks took place at airports in the northern city of Aleppo and the capital Damascus. News agency SANA reports that there were no casualties and no one was injured in the attack. The Israeli army has not responded to the issue.

Kozhikode: CISF officer suspended for helping to smuggle gold through Karipur airport. CISF Assistant Commandant Naveen Kumar has been suspended. The order was issued by CISF Director General Neena Singh.

New Delhi: The central government has come up with a plan to bring back Indians stuck in Israel amid the intensifying Israel-Hamas war. The rescue mission is called Operation Ajay. A special plane has been prepared for this purpose. The Ministry of External Affairs will ensure the safety of the citizens.
Indian nationals who wish to return will be repatriated. The Indian Embassy in Israel has sent an email message to Indian citizens who have registered for the special flight. External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar informed about this through X platform. “Special charter flights and other arrangements have been made. “Fully committed to the safety and welfare of citizens abroad,” S Jaishankar wrote in X.
