Kozhikode: CISF officer suspended for helping to smuggle gold through Karipur airport. CISF Assistant Commandant Naveen Kumar has been suspended. The order was issued by CISF Director General Neena Singh.
He was taken into police custody yesterday. This is followed by the suspension. The action was taken after a team led by DySP Kondotti conducted an inspection of the flat where Naveen lives. The investigation has found that an officer of the Customs was also involved in the incident against Naveen.
In this case, the duty list of the customs officials was found on the phone of Sharafali, the baggage handling employee of the airport who was arrested earlier. When it became clear that it was Naveen who had sent it, the investigation turned to him.
