Kerala continues to experience intense rainfall as the southwest monsoon intensifies. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued alerts for various districts across the state, urging caution for the next few days.

Kannur and Kasaragod districts in the north are on orange alert, anticipating very heavy rainfall ranging from 115.6 mm to 204.4 mm within 24 hours. Several other districts, including Alappuzha are on yellow alert, indicating the possibility of moderate to heavy rainfall (64.5 mm to 115.5 mm).

The incessant rains have already caused disruptions in some areas. Reports from Kozhikode’s hilly regions mention landslides and fallen trees blocking roads. Similarly, southern districts like Kollam, Alappuzha, and Pathanamthitta have experienced accidents due to the heavy rain and strong winds.

Amidst the ongoing heavy rainfall in Kerala, authorities have opened the shutters of the Pamplam Dam in Idukki district to regulate water levels. Consequently, residents along the banks of the Periyar River have been issued an alert to exercise caution.

In addition to the opening of the Pamplam Dam, the shutters of the Kallarkutty Dam have also been raised by two levels.

Residents across Kerala are advised to stay vigilant and follow weather updates from the IMD. People in low-lying areas or near water bodies should be particularly cautious and prepared to evacuate if necessary.

The intimate ceremony, held on their 18th wedding anniversary, saw the couple officially register their marriage after eloping sixteen years ago.

While their relationship has blossomed over nearly two decades, with two daughters, Vaiga and Vedha, completing their family picture, the initial elopement bypassed the legalities of marriage registration. Dharmajan, known for his comedic roles, announced the unique ceremony with a playful social media post earlier in the day. A photo of him and Anooja, dressed in traditional attire, was captioned with, “My wife is getting married again. The groom is…me only.”

Close family and friends, including their children, witnessed the heartwarming ceremony. Though a larger celebration might be expected, Dharmajan reportedly opted for a private affair due to the absence of some key family members, including his parents and Anooja’s father.
