Thiruvananthapuram: Due to the by-elections, Kerala University has announced that all the exams scheduled to be held on Wednesday (Nov 13) have been postponed. Theory and practical exams have been postponed.The revised dates are published on the university website www.keralauniversity.ac.in. Meanwhile, there is no change in the exam center or time. Exams on other days remain unchanged.

Thiruvananthapuram: KSRTC plans to travel by bus even if there is no money in hand. In order to attract more passengers to KSRTC, KSRTC is preparing a system to buy tickets through debit card and UPI app in collaboration with Chalo app. Once the contract process is completed, you can also travel on KSRTC buses by purchasing tickets through digital transactions. KSRTC has decided to extend this system which is currently in some buses in Thiruvananthapuram district.

Ticket payments can be made through Google Pay, Phone Pay, Paytm and other major banks’ apps. It can be used for existing travelcard and renewals. At the same time, it is reported that the credit card may not be used. The process of uploading information of more than 4000 buses on the Chalo app is in progress. Idukki: The High Court has allowed Sabarimala pilgrims to park small vehicles at Pampa Hilltop and Chakkupallam during Mandala Makaravilakku. The decision was taken on the petition of the Travancore Devaswom Board to allow parking.

From 2018, small vehicles were restricted to Pampa. Small vehicles were not allowed. With the permission of the High Court, it will be possible to park around 2000 vehicles here.

The High Court has given permission to park vehicles for 24 hours. The High Court has informed that the permission is temporary and restrictions will be imposed in case of traffic jam or other problems.

Kollam: The High Court has granted bail to Ajmal, the first accused in the case of killing a scooter passenger in Mynagappally. The prosecution requested that Ajmal should not be granted bail as he has been charged with intentional homicide. But the defendant argued that this section does not stand in the case. The second defendant in the case Dr. Sreekutty was earlier granted bail by the Kollam Principal Sessions Court. The court charged Srikutty with incitement.

On September 15, 2024, Kunjumol (45), a scooter passenger, died after being hit by the car in which Ajmal and Sreekutty were traveling. The case was that Ajmal, who was driving under the influence of alcohol, deliberately ran over the housewife and killed her. As soon as the car hit, the locals told the driver Ajmal to stop the vehicle, but he drove the car over Kunjumol’s body and escaped. After hitting Kunjumole, this vehicle had an accident at another place. Ajmal ran away from there. Then the police took the boy who was in the car into custody.

Kochi: The Kerala High Court has ruled that the amendment to the law making possession of waqf land a crime has no retrospective effect. The decision of the High Court was to quash the case registered alleging possession of waqf land. The case against Calicut Postal Division Senior Superintendent and Marikunn Sub PostMaster was cancelled.

The case was that the post office was operating on the Waqf land illegally. The post office has been functioning on this land since 1999. The Waqf Amendment Act came into force in 2013. A case was filed against the postal officials on the basis of this law. But the High Court pointed out that this act cannot be considered an offense with retrospective effect. The High Court also quashed the case pending in Kozhikode.
