Justice Sanjiv Khanna became the 51st Chief Justice of the Supreme Court

Justice Sanjiv Khanna took charge as the 51st Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. President Draupadi Murmu administered the oath at a ceremony held at Rashtrapati Bhavan. His term will be till May 13, 2025. Enrolled as a lawyer in 1983, Justice Sanjeev Khanna became an Additional Judge of the Delhi High Court in 2005 and a permanent Judge in 2006. Then he became a Supreme Court judge in January 2019.
