Civil Service Result Published; Shakti Dubey Gets First Rank, Many Malayalis in Top 100

The Civil Service Result 2024 has been published. Many Malayalis have been included in the top 100 ranks. Shakti Dubey, a native of UP Prayagraj, has secured the first rank. Harshita Goyal, a native of Haryana, has secured the second rank. 1,009 candidates have passed the Civil Service Examination.

Out of 5,83,213 candidates who appeared for the preliminary examination, 1009 out of 2845 candidates who qualified for the main examination and personal interview, have passed the Civil Service Examination. Shakti Dubey, a native of Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh and a student of Allahabad University, secured the first rank. Harshita Goyal, a native of Haryana and a B.Com graduate from MS University, Baroda, secured the second rank. Dongre Archit Parag, a B.Tech graduate from VIT, Vellore, secured the third rank, Shah Margi Chirag, a computer engineering graduate from Gujarat Technological University, Ahmedabad, secured the fourth rank, and Akash Garg, a B.Tech graduate from Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, Delhi, secured the fifth rank.

Several Malayalis also made it to the top 100 ranks. Alfred Thomas who secured 33rd rank, Malavika G. Nair who secured 45th rank, G P Nandana who secured 47th rank, Sonnet Jose who secured 54th rank, Reenu Anna Mathew who secured 81st rank, and Devika Priyadarshini who secured 95th rank have made Malayalis proud. The examination was conducted for IAS, IFS, IPS, Central Service, Group A and Group B services. The rank list of 1009 candidates has been published, including 335 from the general category, 109 from the economically backward priority categories, 318 from the OBC category, 160 from the SC category and 87 from the ST category. Of the successful candidates, 725 were men and 284 were women.

Money laundering case: ED summons actor Mahesh Babu

The Enforcement Directorate has summoned Telugu actor Mahesh Babu in a money laundering case. The ED action is related to its investigation into a money laundering case involving Hyderabad-based real estate firms Sai Surya Developers and Surana Group. The actor has been summoned to appear for questioning on Monday (April 28).

The ED is probing Mahesh Babu’s financial dealings with Sai Surya Developers. ED sources say that a total of Rs 5.9 crore was paid to the actor to promote the group’s projects, of which Rs 3.4 crore was paid through official banking channels and the rest in cash. The ED is probing the legality and source of the monetary component.

The ED has also started investigating the case following several FIRs registered by the Telangana Police for cheating investors by taking advance money for plots and non-compliance with agreements.

On April 16, 2025, the agency had raided four places associated with both the groups. Documents of unaccounted cash transactions worth about Rs 100 crore were also seized during the searches conducted here. In addition, unaccounted cash worth a total of Rs 74.50 lakh was recovered from the premises of Narendra Surana and companies under the Surana group.

No drug dealing: Hybrid cannabis case accused remanded in custody

Alappuzha: Taslima Sultan, the first accused in the hybrid cannabis case, said that she has connections with people in the film industry but no drug dealing. Taslima’s response to the media was when the accused were produced in court. There are 3 accused including Taslima in the hybrid cannabis case worth around Rs 2 crore.

Meanwhile, the Alappuzha Additional District Court remanded all three accused in custody. The court remanded the accused in excise custody till the 24th of this month. The bail application of the three accused is under consideration by the court. The court will consider the petition after the custody period expires.

The defense argued that Sultan Akbar Ali, the third accused in the case and husband of the first accused Taslima, has no connection with the case and was added as an accused only because he is the husband of the first accused. The defense lawyer told the court that there is no evidence against Sultan Akbar Ali.

Gold Price Hits All-Time High in Kerala: One Pavan Reaches Rs. 72,120

The gold trade in Kerala has reached an all-time high. Today, the price of one pavan of gold has surged to Rs. 72,120, with the rate per gram standing at Rs. 9,015. The gold price, which had been steady at Rs. 71,560 for the past three days, has now risen by Rs. 560, marking a new historical peak.

Since the beginning of this month, the price of gold in Kerala has increased by Rs. 4,040. On April 1, the price of one pavan was recorded at Rs. 68,080. However, a decline was observed afterward. By April 8, the price dropped to Rs. 65,800 per pavan, the lowest rate this month. Contrary to expectations of further decline, the price began a sharp upward trend. On April 12, the gold price crossed Rs. 70,000.

Actor Shine Tom Chacko Arrested in Drug Case

Kochi: Actor Shine Tom Chacko has been arrested by the Kochi Police in connection with a drug-related case. The arrest comes after evidence reportedly confirmed drug use, according to police sources. Shine will be taken for a medical examination, including tests of his blood, hair, and other samples. He is expected to be produced before the Kochi First Class Magistrate Court soon.

The case has been registered under Sections 27 and 29 of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act. Charges include drug use, conspiracy, abetment, and being a party to drug-related activities.

Reports suggest that the police obtained crucial information during an intense three-hour interrogation. Though Shine initially tried to withhold information, he eventually broke down under sustained questioning. He reportedly admitted to knowing Sajir, a known drug dealer. The Dansaf team had visited a private hotel in Kochi intending to apprehend Sajir, which led to the chain of events resulting in Shine’s arrest.

The police also noted inconsistencies in Shine’s earlier statements, further strengthening the case. Based on the ongoing investigation, authorities are considering adding more charges. They will also examine Shine’s WhatsApp chats, call records, and Google Pay transactions for additional evidence.

New Delhi – Harpreet Singh, also known as Happy Passia, who is believed to be involved in 14 terror attacks in Punjab, has been arrested. The United States Immigration Department apprehended him.

Happy Passia is considered one of India’s most wanted criminals, with a bounty of ?5 lakh on his head.

According to security agencies, he carried out multiple attacks in collaboration with Pakistan’s intelligence agency, ISI.
