No drug dealing: Hybrid cannabis case accused remanded in custody

Alappuzha: Taslima Sultan, the first accused in the hybrid cannabis case, said that she has connections with people in the film industry but no drug dealing. Taslima’s response to the media was when the accused were produced in court. There are 3 accused including Taslima in the hybrid cannabis case worth around Rs 2 crore.

Meanwhile, the Alappuzha Additional District Court remanded all three accused in custody. The court remanded the accused in excise custody till the 24th of this month. The bail application of the three accused is under consideration by the court. The court will consider the petition after the custody period expires.

The defense argued that Sultan Akbar Ali, the third accused in the case and husband of the first accused Taslima, has no connection with the case and was added as an accused only because he is the husband of the first accused. The defense lawyer told the court that there is no evidence against Sultan Akbar Ali.
