It was just recently that the highly talented TV anchor Ranjini haridas was criticized by the ‘Hasya Samrat’ of the industry, Jagathy Sreekumar, in front of the public during the Grand Finale of the Munch Star Singer Junior. She was blamed for commenting and judging the singers, which in his words, was only supposed to do by the judges. He just tried to imitate few of her actions and ridiculed her. She kept silent and replied that this day has been declared as ‘Ranjini Day’ and went on with the show.
But, she hits back at the actor by writing an article in the ‘Deccan Chronicle’ on ‘Exercising our rights’. She referred to Jagathy as ‘Mr. Moon’, as he was called ‘Ambily’. She wrote that he misused his freedom to say, to ridicule her.
She wrote that, “I guess I am just lucky that I am not scarred for life because of my thick rhino skin. I can just about imagine a teary eyed me running out of the stage weeping at being insulted by such a stalwart or even worse me getting back at him. An eye-for-an-eye, a tooth-for-a-tooth. But I had a job at hand and had to complete it.”
She also added that it was just ‘cheap publicity’ he aimed at, and now she has no respect towards him. But, Jagathy has not yet responded to her words.
For gods sake its already time that ranjini should go anew anchor should come.what jagathy said is correct.asianet management i think shoild search for anchors just as singers.

You are a great actor, it is very nice to watch the way you act, Many stages you have told that you always speaks the truth, strait forward,not biased and so many things.why you want to cheat yourself,most of the people in interviews tell the same.you are not an exemption.
If you still justify your actions on stage,you are not worth off. You dont have any business to comment on the way an anchor should behave, considering the fact that the show is not an live programme. the actors will perform the actions permitted by the director.If you feel that some actions of ranjini is not good ask the director or producer to change her. don’t expect some to change their actions if it has the approval of the producers and directors.
Think, i hope your daughter is hosting some cookery show,i dont like many of her actions and movements.can i do the sameway you did.you know very well that only one jagathy is there to tell the truth,who will not wish to go against own daugter. You may say the show is not much popular,that is not an excuse. If you dont like some one dont try to insult. It is true that many so called true malayalee ladies and their supporters hate ranjini simply becuase she is different from them, not married still at the age of 29 speaks and lives boldly, and the popularity she got also disliked by many. What to do friends you better ask the producers to change the anchor or just stop watching it. jagathy remenber ranjini is performing only because of the people,even they dislike her but people want to see her on the stage.thats why she is there
Jagathy dont act as a saint who always tells truth, you should better learn how to speek when and where. and ever dont claim that you have echoed the sentiments of common people.
Ranjini has a fake accent which mostly all agree. Jagathy has pointed this right and the reason behind is the language Ranjini speaks during the reality show(Its not a insult or abuse).
ISS reality show is business which showcase the value of Kerala culture and its own beautiful language Malayalam.Here the purpose of the show is to refine upcoming young talents where the candidates have prove their strength on singing in beautiful language Malayalam, or otherwise it could have been a white person singing in English and gets the prize?.
This show being a Malayalam show, the malayalee viewers who adds value to the show and Asianet business would definately expect the anchor should have basics which is the value for the language atleast act on the live program.
There are many examples in India where the reality live show streams in different regional language and cannot find fault with the Anchor and the presentation and can see them speaking very fluently and respectfully in their own languages.However, I have more questions which are unaswered?
Why Kerala Asianet ISS is different ? Why do the Asianet producer promotes the value for unspoken-unknown-engli-mallu
version of language.?Why is the Anchor is so care-free (“disrespectful”) to her own known langauage?
LET GOD SAVE GODS OWN COUNTRY AND ITS CULTURE.
LET GOD KILL THE ENGLIMALLU CULTURE..and lets all pray.
This is such crap. Jagathy clearly crossed the line by miles that day.
Personally I am not a fan of Renjini. She is flashy, westernized and maybe an eye candy at times but really she is not someone I admire a lot. But that is NO excuse to insult someone in public in front of live television. Be it Jagathy or any big wig in the malayalam film industry.
Influencing the judges by giving her opinion is a bullshit argument.
If a professional singer and a music director, who have been in the industry for ages can be influenced by the comments of a flashy anchor, then they were never fit to be judges in the first place!
And people who feel influenced by her comments should probably stick to watching fat ass aunties on mallu serials.
Renjini mayhave a fake accent, she may be westernized, she may be arrogant. That still does not give anyone the right to insult another person in public.
Ranjini,
Your pronouncing judgement before the judges doing it is totally wrong. Fact is, people dislike it when anchors like you say ,”oh your song was good but it was not as good as the last time right… now let us go to the judges.”
The judges are the experts let them give judgement on something as skillful as music.
Take it like an adult and come back stronger rather than saying that Mr Moon did it for publicity.

Of course you have the right to defend yourself. Jagathy Sreekumar does not need any publicity so do not make any comparison to people like you.
Jagathy said something that most malayalees would say about anchors like yourself. You can call it generation gap or whatever but remember the crowd liked it and so it means the majority of the audience in our state dislike fake people like you who put a fake accent.
You were not born or brought up in the US so why cannot you speak normal like the rest of the people without a fake accent and your english is also not that perfect.
That is the only mistake I see in you. But you are also a great talented person. good luck
