Washington: Strong earthquake in Alaska. The US Geological Survey said the quake measured 8.2 on the Richter scale.
The epicenter was reported 96 kilometers southeast of Alaska, at a depth of 46.7 kilometers. The earthquake struck at 10.15 pm local time on Wednesday. Following this, a tsunami alert was issued in Alaska.
