New Delhi: Environmentalist and activist Sonam Wangchuk has been arrested by police under the National Security Act in connection with the Ladakh unrest. Reports suggest he has been moved to an undisclosed location. Authorities allege that Wangchuk’s speech incited youth to take to the streets.
The clashes in Ladakh recently claimed four lives and left several injured. Protesters have been demanding statehood for Ladakh and its inclusion under the Sixth Schedule of the Indian Constitution.
