Sabarimala Gold Theft: Gold and Cash Recovered from Unnikrishnan Potti’s Residence

In connection with the investigation into the missing gold plating from the Dwarapalaka idol at the Sabarimala temple, the Special Investigation Team (SIT) has recovered gold ornaments and cash from the residence of Unnikrishnan Potti, the sponsor who was recently arrested in the case. The search was conducted at his family home in Karette, Thiruvananthapuram, and lasted nearly eight hours. The gold found was in the form of jewelry, which the family claims is for personal use. However, the investigation team has also recovered documents related to land transactions, raising suspicions that land might have been purchased using funds obtained through fraudulent means. Potti is expected to be taken to Bengaluru by the investigation team for evidence collection. Reports indicate that key information has already been gathered from him during interrogation.
