The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted heavy rainfall in Kerala over the next five days and issued orange and yellow alerts for various districts across the state. Today, several central and northern districts are under orange alert due to the likelihood of intense rain, while southern and central districts are under yellow alert. The pattern is expected to continue through the coming days, with varying degrees of rainfall anticipated in most parts of the state. According to the IMD, districts including Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, and Thrissur will be affected at different points throughout the forecast period. The department has urged the public to remain cautious, avoid low-lying flood-prone areas, and follow safety measures as the state prepares for more adverse weather conditions.
