Travancore Devaswom Board President K. Jayakumar has dismissed reports alleging that the gold crown belonging to the Sabarimala Lord Ayyappa temple has gone missing, clarifying that the rumor is completely baseless.
Speaking to the media, K. Jayakumar affirmed that the original gold crown is safe inside the temple’s strongroom at Sabarimala. He cited the report submitted by Thiruvabharanam Commissioner Rajilal, who personally verified the presence of the crown in the strongroom.
Addressing the source of the confusion, the Board President explained that a similar, non-precious or “fancy” crown is also kept there. Misunderstandings surrounding this secondary item led to false rumors being spread regarding the missing sacred gold crown.
The Devaswom Board reiterated that all sacred ornaments (Thiruvabharanam) are fully accounted for and secure under strict supervision.
