Palakkad: The court remanded the driver and the owner of the tourist bus in police custody in the vehicle accident at Anjumoorthy Mangalam in Palakkad Vadakkencherry. The custody was granted for three days till 14th. The police informed the court that a detailed interrogation is required.
The police need to seek clarification on the statement of the tourist bus driver Jomon that the accident occurred because the KSRTC bus was stopped and on Jomon’s careless driving which came out earlier. The police are also investigating whether bus owner Arun paved the way for Jomon to escape after the accident.
In the Vadakkenchery road accident, KSRTC had stated in the High Court that the cause of the accident was excessive speed of the tourist bus. This has been informed in the report submitted following the direction of the High Court. Justice Devan Ramachandran said that the speed limit for vehicles should be tightened and the situation in which children lost their lives is very serious.
