Taking to social media, Rima shared a powerful image of K.K. Shailaja with a simple yet poignant caption: “This is our loss.” The post quickly went viral, drawing significant attention from both supporters and critics.
In the high-stakes battle for Peravoor, K.K. Shailaja was defeated by UDF candidate and KPCC leader Sunny Joseph. This victory marks Sunny Joseph’s fourth consecutive win in the constituency. Despite Shailaja’s strong political track record, including her massive record-breaking win in Mattannur during the 2021 elections, she could not secure the Peravoor seat, losing by a margin of 14,453 votes.
Rima’s post has sparked a wave of reactions online. While many fans and Left supporters echoed her sentiment, commenting that “it is Kerala that has lost,” the post also faced backlash from political opponents who mocked the electoral outcome.
Historically, Peravoor has been a challenging ground for the LDF. Though Shailaja won the seat in 2006, she previously lost it to Sunny Joseph in 2011. This latest result underscores the UDF’s continued dominance in the region.
