Kochi: The government has ordered an inquiry into the death of transgender Ananya. The government has appointed an additional director of the health department. The order said that the investigation report should be submitted within a month. The inquiry was ordered following a complaint that an error in the gender reassignment surgery led Ananya to commit suicide.
Ananya Kumari Alex committed suicide last July. Ananya had come to the scene with the allegation that the doctor had made a mistake in the gender reassignment surgery. This is followed by suicide. He is the first transgender radio jockey in Kerala.
Ananya underwent gender reassignment surgery in 2020. However, the woman complained that she was still unable to work even a year after the surgery. She said she could not get up more than the allotted time and had a lot of physical problems. Ananya could not even go to work due to health issues and had difficulty with even the basics.
