Pathanamthitta: Revenue Minister K Rajan has announced a red alert for 10 dams in the state. A red alert has been issued for Kaki, Sholayar, Mattupetty, Kundala, Kallarkutty, Peringalkuthu, Moozhiyar, Kallar, Chimney, and Peechi dams. Orange alerts have been issued for five dams of the Irrigation Department and three dams of the Electricity Department.
He was speaking at a press conference after the review meeting in Pathanamthitta.
Health Minister Veena George also attended the press conference. Meanwhile, two shutters of the Kaki-Elephant Dam opened as early as 11 a.m. Monday. The two shutters of the dam were raised by two centimeters each as a first step.
