Omicron confirmed to 48 people in Kerala

Thiruvananthapuram: Health Minister Veena George has said that 48 more people in the state have been confirmed to have Omicron. Kozhikode 12, Ernakulam 9, Thrissur 7, Thiruvananthapuram 6, Kottayam 4, Malappuram 2, Kollam, Idukki, Alappuzha, Palakkad, and Wayanad one each were confirmed by Omicron. In addition, Omicron also affected 3 Tamil Nadu nationals from the UAE.

33 were from low-risk countries and 2 were from high-risk countries. 9 people were infected with  Omicron through contact. Eight people from Kozhikode and one from Kottayam contracted the disease. Three from Thrissur and one from Kollam are from other states.

Kozhikode UAE 3, Qatar 1, Ernakulam UAE 4, Saudi Arabia, Botswana, Qatar, Italy, Romania 1 each, Thrissur UAE 3, USA 1, Thiruvananthapuram UAE 5, Kuwait 1, Kottayam UAE 2, Canada 1, Malappuram UAE 1, Saudi Arabia 1, Alappuzha Saudi Arabia 1, Palakkad UAE 1, Wayanad Australia 1.

With this, Omicron has been confirmed for a total of 528 people in the state. 365 came from low-risk countries and a total of 92 from high-risk countries. A total of 61 people were infected through contact. There are 10 people from other states.
