Kozhikode: Public Works Minister Mohammad Riyaz said that the government will take immediate steps to improve the physical condition and social atmosphere of the Vellimadukunnu girls’ home. The minister said Rs 22 lakh has been sanctioned for painting the building and directed to expand the playground for children. The Minister also directed to look into the possibility of setting up a garden and a farm adjacent to the Girls Home.
The minister was addressing the media after a meeting at the Girls’ Home. The meeting was attended by Raveendran MLA and District Collector Dr.N.Tej Lohit Reddy, District Women and Child Development Officer Abdul Bari, Boys Home Superintendent Ahmed Rashid, and Public Works Department Executive Engineer.
