Mask mandatory for children over 12 years of age; Not for those under five; Center with updated guidelines

New Delhi: The Center has directed children above the age of 12 to wear masks in public places.

The Center has issued a revised guideline in the wake of the Omicron outbreak. Children between the ages of 6 and 11 can safely wear the mask under parental supervision. The center also states that the mask is not mandatory for children under the age of five.

The Center also states that the use of antiviral and monoclonal antibodies is not recommended for children under 18 years of age who are not critically ill. Steroid use is said to be dangerous in non-severe corona cases. The guideline also states that steroids should only be given under strict supervision to those in critical condition.
