Maradu: The Supreme Court has ordered that half of the compensation be paid up within six weeks

Kochi: The Supreme Court has ordered to pay half of the compensation to the owners of the flats demolished and replaced within six weeks. A bench headed by Justice Naveen Sinha directed the Jain and Kayaloram groups to pay the amount within six weeks. The Jain flat to be paid Rs 12.24 crore and the Kayaloram to be paid Rs 6 crore.The court also said it would allow the sale of the confiscated items to find the remaining compensation once the money is tied up. The apex court will hear the case of the Holly faith in two weeks.
