Heavy rains in central Kerala for the next three hours

Pathanamthitta, Idukki, and Kottayam districts are likely to receive heavy rainfall over the next three hours. Ranni town was flooded due to the rising water level in the Pampa river. Seven relief camps have been set up in the district. Pilgrimage to Sabarimala is not allowed today and tomorrow due to heavy rains. Wind up to 60 kmph is also likely to hit in the state

Rescue operations continue in Kottayam Koottikkal and Idukki Kokkayar which had landslides yesterday. Fifteen people are yet to be found in the two locations. Three people were killed in Kootikal yesterday. Seven people are to be found in Kavali in Kootikal. A 40-member army has come to the rescue. There has been huge damage in the aggregation area. Eight people have gone missing in two places in Kokkayar. The Idukki Collector informed me that the search will start in the morning. Seven houses were destroyed in Kokkayar. It is still raining in Kootikal and Kokkayar. The locals are worried that it will still roll.
