Half-price scooter scam; Case registered against Justice C N Ramachandran Nair

Malappuram: Police have registered a case against Justice C N Ramachandran Nair in a half-price scooter scam. The case was registered by the Perinthalmanna police on a complaint filed by an NGO. The case has been registered under sections 318 (4) and 3 (5) of the Indian Penal Code on a complaint filed by the president of the implementing agency, Angadipuram KSS.

C N Ramachandran is the third accused in the case. Sai Gramam Global Trust Chairman K N Anandakumar and Ananthu Krishnan are the first and second accused. However, Ramachandran’s response is that he accepted the advisory position of the NGO Federation because it is an organization that provides aid.

CN Ramachandran responded that Anand Kumar had invited him as an advisor and that when he came to know that money was being collected for the scooter, he had told Anand Kumar to remove his name from the advisory position. He added that the fraudsters must have thought that they could gain trust by appointing a retired judge as an advisor.
