A case has been filed against Lok Sabha opposition leader Rahul Gandhi again for allegedly making anti-national statements. The case has been registered by the Odisha Police. Northern Range IGP Himanshu Lal said that the FIR has been registered against Rahul based on a complaint filed by BJP, RSS and Bajrang Dal members of Jharsuguda district. The complaint has been filed in the name of BJP worker Rama Hari Pujari.
BJP workers have pointed out in the complaint that Rahul’s statement that they will fight together against the Indian government is anti-national. The FIR has been filed under sections 152 (acts against the sovereignty, unity and integrity of India) and 197(1)(d) (publicising matters against the country) of the IPC. A case was registered against Rahul on February 5 as case number 31.
The case is based on the speech made by Rahul while inaugurating the new Congress headquarters building at Rose Avenue. In the backdrop of the RSS and BJP taking over all the institutions of the country, Rahul Gandhi said that the Congress was not only against the BJP but also that they could fight the Indian government together. The complaint also pointed out that Rahul deliberately makes such anti-national remarks.
