Thiruvananthapuram: At least 44 lives have been lost in the heavy rain that reappeared before it could survive. More than 25 people died in the state yesterday. The body of eight missing persons has been recovered. On Thursday, 11 people died.

Bhoodanam near Nilambur in Malappuram district disappeared in the landslides. It is suspected that 30 of the 19 families were trapped underground. It is covered with stone and mud at a height of about 50 feet. 4 bodies were taken out.

Eight bodies were recovered at Putupumala in Meppady, Wayanad, where a large earthquake erupted on Thursday. Spread over 5 acres, this village spans over 100 acres. Around 64,013 people have been shifted to relief camps in different districts.

Train services on the Thrissur-Kozhikode, Shornur-Palakkad and Ernakulam-Alappuzha routes were disrupted. Many trains were canceled today.

Flight services also rescheduled here. The flights to be take off from Nedumbassery has been rescheduled to take off from Thiruvananthapuram International Airport.
