Thiruvananthapuram: Actor Premkumar has been appointed as the Vice Chairman of the Kerala Chalachithra Academy. The appointment is for three years. The appointment replaces Bina Paul. Earlier, the government had appointed director Ranjith as the chairman of the film academy. Ranjith was appointed to replace director Kamal.
Born in Thiruvananthapuram on September 12, 1967, Premkumar is active in the Malayalam film and television serial industry. He has won several awards, including the State Government Award for Best Television Actor. He made his film debut in the film Sakhavu directed by
P.A. Baker. He has also won state awards for Best Drama Actor.
