Thiruvananthapuram: In response to the escalating tensions between Iran and Israel, the Kerala state government has launched a dedicated NORKA Roots Help Desk to ensure the safety and well-being of Non-Resident Keralites (NRKs) residing in the Middle East.
The emergency measure was initiated under the urgent directive of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, aiming to provide immediate assistance and accurate information to Malayali expats and their anxious family members back home in Kerala.

Government Coordination and Safety Guidelines
The Kerala government has urged all Indian citizens residing in the affected regions to strictly adhere to the safety guidelines and advisories issued by the respective Indian Embassies and the Union Ministry of External Affairs (MEA).
To effectively monitor the situation on the ground, NORKA officials are maintaining continuous contact with various Malayali associations across the Gulf countries and members of the Loka Kerala Sabha.
No Need for Panic, Assures Chief Minister
Addressing the concerns of the families, the Chief Minister clarified that the state government is closely monitoring the geopolitical developments in the Gulf region. The state is working in tandem with the Central Government to execute any necessary emergency interventions to guarantee the safety of the diaspora. Authorities have advised the public not to panic and to rely only on official channels for updates.
