Kochi: In an unprecedented surge, gold prices have skyrocketed to historic highs following the Central Government’s decision to drastically increase the import duty on precious metals. In a single day, the price of one pavan (8 grams) of gold jumped by a massive ₹10,200.
As of Wednesday, the price of a pavan stands at a staggering ₹1,23,120. The price per gram has also seen a steep rise of ₹1,275, bringing the current rate to ₹15,390 per gram.
