Veteran actress Saleema, who captivated Malayali audiences in classics like Nakhakshathangal and Aranyakam, has successfully recovered from oral cancer and is eager to return to Malayalam cinema. Actress Seema G. Nair, who recently met Saleema in Chennai, shared an emotional update regarding the actress’s health and current living conditions.
Saleema, known for the iconic song “Olithirikkan Vallikkudilonnu,” had been battling oral cancer for some time. After completing her treatment, she is now active again and working in Tamil television projects. However, Seema G. Nair highlighted that despite her recovery, Saleema is in need of financial stability and is primarily looking for work opportunities in the Malayalam film and television industry.
Seema also addressed rumors claiming Saleema is bedridden, clarifying that she is healthy and ready to work. While actors like Vineeth and Shwetha Menon supported her during her difficult phase, the industry largely overlooked her during her illness. “What she needs now is work, whether in movies or serials, to sustain her journey forward,” Seema stated in her appeal to the artistic community.
