New Delhi: Union Health Minister Harsh Vardhan has said that the Covid vaccine will be approved in the country soon. The government is considering allowing more than one vaccine. The Union Minister said that the procedures related to this are in progress. He told a cabinet meeting yesterday that the Covshield vaccine, jointly developed by Oxford University and the Serum Institute in Pune, and Covacsin, developed by Bharat Biotech, were being considered for approval. There are currently 28,000 cold storages for storing vaccines. In the first phase, the government has decided to vaccinate 30 million people.
