New Delhi: The Supreme Court has ordered a CBI probe into the death of Bollywood actor Sushant Singh Rajput. The court also directed the CBI to take up other cases related to death. The court also directed that the Mumbai police documents be handed over to the CBI. The Supreme Court has rejected the plea of Sushant’s girlfriend Riya Chakrabarty.
More than two months after Sushant’s death, the cause of death is still unclear. The family members of actor Sushant Singh Rajput have approached the court stating that it was not a suicide but a premeditated murder.
The investigation into Sushant’s death has so far proceeded as a suicide. However, Sushant’s family said they were convinced it was a murder.
The Bihar government had asked the Center to hand over the case to the CBI after the Bihar police registered a case and started an investigation. The Central Government accepted the recommendation and left the case to the CBI.
